Handcrafted Medicine Bag...

I've been working on this Medicine Bag for quite awhile.  Today it is complete.  Traditionally used to hold various items of supernatural power: special stones, animal fur, tobacco or healing herbs, totems, fetishes, magical tokens and blessings, all items having significant meaning to the owner!  No person, apart from the owner, was allowed to look inside this bag.  When the owner died, they were buried with it.

This is my Dream Bag: with visible reference to my daydreams (turquoise fox fetish) & my night dreams (black onyx fox fetish) strung along this beaded strand!  Tucked inside, of my eyes only, are the magical powers significant to me.  True to native tradition, I will be buried with this. 

Earth & Sky: Kinship Strand

This is my Earth & Sky collection, inspired by the great plains and representing a kinship with all the creatures of the earth and the elements of the sky. The design is clean & colorful, featuring beads in earthly shades and celestial hues! Some feature a wonderful, cascading waterfall of natural gemstones! These beaded strands range in random lengths of 20-32 inches long and are one of a kind. Varying lengths to layer. An assortment of colors to mix & match. Wear one, wear them all!

This necklace measures 26" long. It features a colorful collection of gems and stones: Carnelian, Citrine, Peridot, Natural Turquoise & Turquoise Heishi, Quartz, glass & seed beads in the colors of sunshine, milky kiwi, shamrock & sour apple green, iris, hyacinth, cornflower, cobalt, aqua & turquoise blue. I used brass beads, findings & chain.

I created a total of 4 strands in this color way of yellow/blue/green, with this being the only necklace featuring a gem/stone waterfall cascade. It is designed to easily slip over your head and it looks lovely paired with all of the sunshine & shamrock toned Earth & Sky necklaces!

This is LONG, measuring 28" right to the very end of the turquoise bead. It features a colorful collection of gems and stones: Amethyst, Carnelian, Citrine, Peridot, Natural Turquoise & Turquoise Heishi, Cranberry & Rose Quartz, glass & seed beads in the colors of purple rosaline, periwinkle, cobalt, cornflower, aqua, aquamarine & turquoise blue. I also used silver & silver plated copper findings, beads & chain and are lead free.

I created a total of 3 strands in this color way of aqua/blue/violet, with this being the only necklace featuring my gemstone waterfall cascade. It is designed to easily slip over your head and it looks lovely layered with any of the periwinkle blue toned Earth & Sky necklaces!

Kinship Strand: Earth & Sky

Inspired by the wild west & created in the light of a new moon, my Kinship Strands are a circle dance of seed, glass, gem, heishi, stone & turquoise beads! They are a celebration of color, spirit, individuality & affinity....ties that bind us.

This is my Earth & Sky collection, representing a kinship with all the creatures of the earth and the elements of the sky. The design is clean & colorful, featuring beads in earthly shades and celestial hues! Some feature a wonderful, cascading waterfall of natural gemstones! These beaded strands range in random lengths of 20-32 inches long and are one of a kind. Varying lengths to layer. An assortment of colors to mix & match. Wear one, wear them all!

~ This necklace measures 25" long. It features a colorful collection of gems and stones: Amethyst, Carnelian, Citrine, Peridot, Natural Turquoise & Turquoise Heishi, Quartz, glass & seed beads in the colors of sunshine, milky kiwi, shamrock & sour apple green, iris, hyacinth, cornflower, cobalt, aqua & turquoise blue. I used a teal color silk/metal blended thread, lead free, silver plated floral bead & findings.

I created a total of 4 strands in this color way of yellow/blue/green, with this being the only necklace featuring hand-knotted gemstones on a strong, silk blend thread. It is designed with a lobster clasp opening and looks lovely paired with any of the sunshine & shamrock toned Earth & Sky necklaces! ~

Kinship Strand: Chimayo

Inspired by the wild west & created in the glow of a harvest moon, my Kinship Strands are a circle dance of seed, glass, heishi, stone & turquoise beads! They are a celebration of color, spirit, individuality & affinity...ties that bind us.

One of a kind, my strands range in random lengths of 23-32 inches long. Varying lengths to layer. Assorted colors to compliment your mood or to refashion it. No two strands are alike. No recipe. No plan. Pure color story. Wear one, wear them all!  

This strand features: 3 Turquoise & seed beads in the colors of milky montana, cornflower, aqua & turquoise blue, ancient rose, sour apple, hyacinth, periwinkle & gold luster. 

This strand measures 29" long & looks especially dandy when paired with my Kinship Three Tears strand!

Turquoise Medicine: Turquoise is regarded as the oldest stone in man's history; the talisman of kings & queens, shamans & warriors! It is a stone of strength & protection yet is soothing to the touch. It is tranquil & heavenly. Sacred in adornment, turquoise represents power, luck & protection. Native Americans wear it in ceremonies to call upon the great spirit of the sky. Many honor turquoise as the universal stone, believing their minds would become one with the universe when wearing it. Turquoise worn on the body or used in ceremonies always signifies the God of the sky alive in the earth.

Kinship Strand: White Fox

Fox Medicine: If fox has chosen to share its medicine with you, it is a sign that you are to become like the wind, which is unseen & able to weave in & out of any situation or location. Observe the acts of others rather than relying on their words. Use your cunning nature in a positive way. Keep silent about who, what & why you are observing as it is your lesson. Fox medicine teaches the art of Oneness through its understanding of camouflage. This applies on all levels, from flakes of snow to God. Know you are being asked to see that you are One with all.

Eagle Totem Goddess

Eagle: The Great Spirit Goddess~ Eagle symbolizes Power, Wisdom & Strength! The Eagle can also represent the sun (as it's flight symbolizes the sun's daily passage across the sky.) She has the ability to live in the realm of the Spirit, yet remain connected & balanced within the realm of Earth. If Eagle is your totem, the wings of your soul will be supported by the ever-present breezes which are the breath of the Great Spirit.

My Totem Goddess Collection is about one-of-a-kind necklaces featuring master, hand carved, buffalo bone pendants! Special stones and unique beads surround each pendant creating a truly eye catching piece! No two are alike! I crafted each one under the glow of a winter moon so they are magical, mystical & symbols of the spirits that guide our souls.

Eagle Goddess features: A hand carved Balinese buffalo bone pendant with the images of Eagle, Goddess, & Wolf, faceted green blue, white & brown Ribbon Agate, aqua oval Emperor stones, Glass Crystals in Rain, ceylon frosted aqua Seed Beads, beige seed beads, Nickel beads, and a lobster claw closure.

This necklace measures 20 1/2" long (drop length 9 1/2") with a pendant that is 2 1/2" long. Amazing!
